I have recently updated my system to the MCC release of .99pl8 and have
encountered a strange and annoying problem. If I create a swapfile (and
run mkswap on it, of course), and then add the swapfile to etc/fstab, the
swapon -a in the rc finds the swapfile and seems to run okay. BUT -- when
I do this, xdm (and X itself) never starts up and my system just sits there.
All I have to do is remove the swapfile from /etc/fstab and X and Xdm run
fine. What is going on here? This sounds like a pretty nasty bug...
