Can this be nothing but FUD or something more serious? You make the call...

I'd say it's evidence that OO has arrived, and it's worth virus writer's attention.
One of the comments has it right: To be bit by a macro virus requires you either altering the security settings or clicking OK on a dialog box that tells you this document you just opened has a macro in it, and it's a REALLY bad idea to run this macro if you aren't certain who sent it to you AND that you trust them running things on your computer. (like maybe they signed it with their *GP* key?)
I dunno. All of my local openoffice docs started crashing when I installed my Brother laser printer - don't know if there's any connection, but most docs will crash oo if I try to print, and after that, they'll crash when opening and all I can get is a blank doc.
oocalc can't open gnumeric spreadsheets - how stupid is that?
Its for real. Funny thing is, this worm launches DOS attacks with 5K ICMP packets against anti-virus websites.... Hmmmm.... Seems like you would want to attack websites of people less prepared and less knowledgeable about virus detection and DOS attacks. But then, I really don't know much about writing worms and DOS attacks, so what do I know???
