Systemrescuecd has saved my ass and my HDD more than once. I use it from CD for more compatibility. I was able to rescue a dead partition table after a failed partial Linux install. (Don't tap your foot next to the power strip.) I think the tool was gpart.
Just picked up a 1G USB Flash drive and am trying to decide which
system rescue distro to put on it. Anyone have any experience with
these or other live rescue systems?
