I didn't see it in an ad and I haven't seen it at that price online. I verified the model last night and it is the newer model with an integrated controller, which may be a source of headaches for using it without their software. It's a "While Supplies Last" display, but it was still mostly full. I wonder if WD was trying to move a large stock of these over Black Friday and even the $50 price tag wasn't enough to sway people over other stuff. Jon. I was browsing the stuff at the Walmart in Lee's Summit and they have the WDBAAA5000ABK ( http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.asp?driveid=700 ) for $50, half MSRP and $10 cheaper than Microcenter. I might stop by again to verify the model number. This is the newer design with the USB controller integrated to the drive's mainboard and some reviews mention a high power draw over the single USB port for some machines. Got the squeeze installer to work from unetbootin after a few failures. Install seemed to go fine, no errors, but on reboot no grub, just windows. So far I've failed to get a live USB image or CD to boot. This thing has two "hidden" partitons, and I suspect it's using some sort of windows trickery that boots to W7 no matter what. I _did_ get the unetbootin and clonezilla USB images to boot.

On the Acer 532h netbooks, I've run into two issues I haven't cared enough to fix just yet: The SDHC reader didn't work at all under the last build of Ubuntu, and the mouse was problematic. The multi-touch trackpad caused frequent errors when using whatever the default mouse driver was, but there was a fix out there somewhere.
